I’m so happy to bring you my first hair tutorial! After getting some compliments and questions about my 40s waves, I thought I would share with you my super easy recipe for vintage curls! It generally takes me less than 20 minutes and lasts for at least 3 days, so it’s one of my favorites for saving some time.
1. Start off newly washed brushed hair. Separate into four sections and begin to curl in the same direction with a 1″ barrel curling iron. Grab about 1-2″ of hair for each curl.
2. After curling each section, be sure to spray to secure the curls. I use Shu Uemura Finishing Spray Sheer Lacquer.
3. Brush out your hair. Yes, you’ll be brushing your hardwork to finish the look! Run your hands through to mold the curls into place, if necessary. Again, spray to secure. And you’re done!
While I love the look on it’s own, I didn’t want to wear the same style every day. I came up with a few bonus tips to diversify the look. See below!
The first idea is to create a little poof for some volume and personality. I always like adding it since my face is round and I need the height.
Or you can add some flair easily with bobby pins. I found some fun ones in blue, but you can also use decorative hair pins, flowers, or fascinators!
What’s your go-to hair style in a rush?
