I’ve been terribly excited to show you my treasures from our trip to Belize. While most tourist destinations offer the same items (dreadlock hats, anyone?), I make it my own personal mission to seek out the truly creative, beautiful, artisan items from everywhere I go. I refused to buy an “Unbelizable” t-shirt and call it a day.
The ring above was my best find. It’s made of raw quartz and fashioned into a giant, geometric piece of lovely. And I paid $35 US for it. Yep. That’s right. In the US, I probably would’ve paid at least triple that. What I love most is the fact that you can see all of the details in the mineral. It just makes it that much more special.
Above I have a mini-clutch with floral embroidery, which matches a lot of my summer dresses perfectly. The rosary is made of black coral. I saw a bigger version that I loved, but couldn’t really afford at $350 US. I found this lighter version for $35 US and knew it had to be mine. It makes me nostalgic for my Catholic upbringing and reminds me of the ocean I love so much.
Lastly, I purchased this statement necklace at a local fair for $7 US. It’s made of seashells, but put together in a way I’ve never seen. It’s spiky with a unique sheen, and I can’t wait to incorporate it into my wardrobe!
What are the best souvenirs you’ve ever purchased?
