The Perks of Himalayan Salt

Today we have Rachel of Symbiotic Life.  Her and I have been friends now since fall of 2011, through blogging. She left a wonderfully, intricate comment and we started emailing back and forth.  She’s grown to become one of my best friends, online or not.  One day, the stars will align, we’ll both we rich, and head for the high seas on our yacht like we discuss frequently.  Thank you so much for helping me out, Rach!

Hi everyone! My name is Rachel and I’m so honored that Lindsay is letting me guest post while she gets her wedding/honeymoon groove going.

I’m a mom who loves life and all the fine things it has to offer. Today I want to share my passion for health and beauty with you. I have four kids, a pansy immune system and my precious little germbags kids bring home every little bug under the sun. I’m also a woman who likes to feel pretty and have an affinity for spa treatments that just aren’t in the budget.

One of my greatest beauty and health secrets is Himalayan Salt, so I thought I’d share it with all of you! After a long, hard, kid-filled day I’m more than eager to retreat to a hot bath and Himalayan Bath Salts is one of my favorite ways to indulge. The great thing about Himalayan Salt is its hidden nutrient power. There are 84 nutrients hiding inside and all that goodness gets soaked right through the skin while you do nothing but lay back and relax. The list of claimed benefits goes on and on: detoxification, skin ailments, joint disorders, immunity building, stress reduction, pms and insomnia relief.

In regards to those claims, I can’t say that I’ve used scientific equipment to test for all these wondrous nutrients and their benefits. What I can tell you from sheer observation is that when I add Himalayan Salt to my bath, my skin is softer, smoother, and clearer. Is there anyone out there who doesn’t love that?

How about you guys? What are some of your health and beauty secrets?

Great post, as usual, Rachel! I’ve never tried bath salts – maybe because I usually shower rather than bathe? Every once in awhile, though, I crave a nice, relaxing, hot bath, and these salts sound like the perfect addition!

What? I’m the total opposite. I’d rather always bathe!
