This past weekend, I attended Couture Fashion Week. Housed at the infamous Waldorf-Astoria, the air was one of excitement, luxury, and creativity. My first show I caught was for Isabel Zapardiez bridal couture early in the weekend. Later on I caught another batch of shows, because who can turn down fashion and the Waldorf?
First up was Romero Bryan from the United Kingdom. I swear he made the collection just for me. It was full of black and white leather, velour, and feathers. The cuts were supremely dramatic and the main focus was on textural diversity. Sign me up!
Next was Luis Machicao. Where do I begin? The mohawks? The primary colors? The aztec patterns with powersuits? It was a statement show to say the least!
Last and certainly not least was LaureLuxe by Laurel DeWitt, which is the show I really anticipated. I mean, it’s metal jewelry and armor as fashion. I’m surprised Miss Daphne Guinness wasn’t there!
What do you think of the collections?
You get to go to the COOLEST things! That hair in the 3rd set of pictures is insane.

Thank you! I know. All of the hair was like that. It was even crazier in person. I don’t want to imagine washing it afterwards!
I’d be fascinated to see more of the Romero collection. That mohawk hair….just OW. I truly feel for those girls having to wash that out. Especially if they had another show to run to right after this one.
That were exactly my thoughts! I felt horrible for them!
Oh wow Lindsay! These are exquisite. My favorites are the Romero Bryan and DeWitt Collections. So gorgeous. I’m a big fan of black and white. But these have a bit of punch to them. Love the metallics. Glad you went!
Yeah, the Romero Bryan was stunning. I wish I could’ve gotten better pictures of the texture.
My chum had both of her weddings there – oh the memories! I am just not a high fashion person – too many years spent working in that milieu.
