My First & Last Cleanse

Jan 11
liquiteria

Last Friday I had the brilliant idea to do a cleanse.  A 3-day one at that.  Considering that I’d never done a cleanse or even tried healthy green juices, this would be interesting. However, I’m known to be quite the adventurous, spontaneous, and very impulsive person. So I cleared my schedule, warned my husband, and proceeded to pick up my juices.

I chose the Liquiteria method because it was the cheapest and it had the best reviews.  The plan was 6 juices a day for three days.  This was my commentary from day 1.  As a side note, it’s ok to laugh.

All Greens: This being my first healthy juice drink, and a green one at that, I am not impressed. In fact, it’s rather disgusting. It smells good and I know it’s going to do great things for my body. I hold my nose while drinking.
All Greens With Apple: This is much, much better. It’s a lot sweeter than I thought it would be, which is a major plus. It kind of masks all of the funky tastes of the veggies.
Greens With Carrots: Well, it’s back to awful. Considering that I’m not the biggest fan of carrots, this is definitely difficult. I have to make a face to make sure it goes down. I’m thinking this might be the worst of the bunch.
Beets Me: And this one made me throw up. Literally.
So, I didn’t even finish day one or get to try the Royal Flush. Considering that a juice made me get physically ill was a good indication that this was not working for me. Also, towards the late afternoon (juice three), my body began shaking.  It started with my fingers and really frightened me. I think it was my body’s way of saying, “no more!” I tried, I wasted some money, and I learned. After this, I’ll take hours at the gym over those juices any day.

Have you ever done a cleanse?

Lindsay, when I read the title of the post I knew where it was going (because it’s exactly what I would do hahaha). Even though it’s not funny, I couldn’t help but laugh. Oh girl, I so feel for you! I started looking into juicing several years ago. I was going to purchase one of these systems, but instead purchased a Breville Juicer and did my own juicing. It’s a lot more palatable (dark green kale, tomato, celery, carrots, green apple). But I still ate something, so I’ve never done just a body cleanse. When I was looking at purchasing one Blue Print Cleanse intrigued me: http://blueprintcleanse.com/ and so did Cooler Cleanse http://coolercleanse.com/ I still one day may try one of those. I wish they would let us review them! HaHaHa

I’ll have to research the cooler cleanse. I’m not against juicing, or cleansing, for that matter, but my body did not like it!

Oh my gosh, this is kind of funny, but I’m sorry you got sick. It sounds like you weren’t getting enough protein, so your blood sugar was low. I could never do a cleanse, so you are a trooper for taking it on!

No worries. I laugh about it myself. The ideas I come up with when I’m feeling motivated…

Haha, now that’s REAL! I appreciate your honesty!

Hahah. Of course! I wish I could say that I had better results!
