With one week left until I embark on my wedding/honeymoon, I wanted to share with you some of my favorite travel essentials. Hopefully, you can share some of yours with me too!
I have one very serious travel rule no matter where I’m going: leave the luxury at home. I’ve forgotten fancy tops. I’ve broken designer sunglasses. I even lost an expensive bracelet in a rental car. I learned my lesson. Now I only travel with the basics, lest anything happens. However, this often becomes a problem, especially when you’re a fashion fiend.
Luckily I was able to find some affordable and fashionable pieces at Target. Above we have the Xhilaration Extreme Cateye in milky olive. Believe me, they do not look like $15 sunnies. I was a little unsure at first, but they are unique, pretty funky, and give me some Coco Rocha cheekbones, which is always good.
Then I found the Mossimo Poeske flat. It’s similar to the DV by Dolce Vita Archer, but less than half the price. I already hate spending money on sandals, because they only last a season, so I was more than ok to dish out $15 for these babies.
So tell me, do you also stick to budget accessories for travel?
Ooh, I like this. I need your travel/budget tips. Those definitely don’t look like $15 sunnies. So excited for you!
Thank you! I highly suggest Target for budget pieces. I couldn’t stop shopping!
Once upon a time I packed all my most expensive hair/makeup/clothes for a special occasion into one bag and it was lost by an airline. I calculated roughly 1,000$ of merchandise was lost in a void somewhere. Upset doesn’t begin to describe that feeling. It’s more of a sick feeling in the pit of your stomach. I now travel with the fewest outfits I think I can get away with and I NEVER take anything expensive. Even if it means sacrificing quality. It kills me to go to new places and not have my DSLR on hand to capture it all. I’d never forgive myself if something happened to it. My insured camera phone photos just have to do in it’s place.
Yeah, at one point, my charger broke off into my laptop (I still had it plugged in). Most expensive mistake.
