Meet Gabrielle! We met through #BlogTrends (surprise!) and keep in touch through our blogs and Twitter. I always enjoy seeing what new color she has on her nails or the new makeup she’s wearing. I wish I could wear color as well as her! Thank you, Gabrielle!
Hey there Black + Blonde One Readers! I’m Gabrielle from The Gabe Fix, a lifestyle blog I started to document my journey from a city socialite to a country housewife. I’m super excited that Lindsay allowed me the opportunity to guest post! I’m pretty sure she’s out enjoying her honeymoon and eating tons of lobster (can we say jealous?).
Alright, so I wanted to share with you guys my absolute favorite piece for the summer and how I get the most out of it. Who doesn’t love a maxi skirt, right? I bought this awesome blue skirt from Old Navy a couple months ago and loved it so much that I even went back to buy it in 2 more colors!
The first way I decided to style it was by creating a fun look incorporating to oh so popular colorblocking trend. Purple is one of my favorites and I knew that it would compliment the skirt perfectly. You can’t go wrong with two bold colors!
For the next look, I wanted to spice things up a bit. I wore my skirt as a dress (don’t act like you’ve never done it before). If you haven’t, maybe you should try. Pull that puppy up and throw on a blazer with some cute wedges/heels and you are good to go…instant chic!
The last look was a bit more casual. I paired the skirt with stripes. Another great way to mix things up is to add pattern to a solid piece. Polka dots, stripes, plaid, any of those would work. It’s all about expressing your personal style.
What are some of your summer staple pieces?
XOXO,
Gabrielle
Yay for guest posting!! Thanks so much Lindsay
Thank YOU!
I love maxis! So versatile. Great looks, Gabrielle
Agree! And I love anything flowy!
I’m sad to say I don’t own a maxi skirt–but you have encouraged me to go ahead and buy one. I love all of these looks especially wearing it as a dress!
Thanks for sharing Gabe

Yes, you must get one! I’ve had one for a couple of years now and it’s still going strong.
Girl you rocked that skirt. I love it.
She did rock it!
Agreed!
